Beautifully put. Applaud the finesse it takes to write and acknowledge the pain behind the times we’re in and simultaneously offer a nostalgic memory of goodness and, as you so aptly put it, “a glimmer of hope.” Well done🙏🏻
Yesterday was an extremely tragic day. I hated Charlie Kirk but shed many tears because despite politics he was father and it broke me down thinking about the repercussions. I can say, thankfully, most of the center/center-left folks I follow were extremely graceful and empathetic. However, there were several who said despicable things that I had to unfollow and block. I don’t know how our country is supposed to move on from tragedy after tragedy after tragedy. But along side the tears I spilled yesterday for Mr Kirk, I cried too for our country. Thank you John for setting the example to be the better person we all should be

thank you Claire this means an awful lot. I took my time on this one!
Respect for standing up and speaking. Silent majority needs to begin sticking up for themselves and be silent no more.
Thankyou
This was refreshing after the 4 disgusting posts I just read. I don't know why I read them
It's deepening my heartbreak today
I'm at a loss for how sad I am. Not just for the man (who I do support) but for the idea they tried to kill.
We need to bring back "agree to disagree" and STOP killing each other
Those kids don't have a father anymore. His wife is a widow.
As a mother and wife I can't get my head there. I cannot imagine not hearing my husbands voice again.
It's too much.
So you hug your kids, put work aside, and just try to process.
We did arbys in advance of a regular weekend splurge as well.
I didn't have the energy to make dinner.
I'm just so lost today.
I'm scared and sad.
I'm embarrassed by our lack of humanity.
hi Danielle- appreciate you reading and happy this seemed to resonate with you.
I think you make a lot of terrific points here- your heart is definitely in good working order.
Hope that Arby's hit the spot on a tough day, all the best to you
