Latent Energy Transmutation
It's gotta go somewhere.
Everything in this world has energy.
People, places, clothing, even money.
Life is a nonstop energy exchange, whether we like it or not.
People may hear such a thing and want to refute it instantaneously, which is understandable.
I’d offer the following rebuttal:
How do you feel when you get paid?
Is there really not a single garment in your wardrobe that when you throw it on, you feel the rush of being your highest and best self?
Exactly.
Experiencing Energy as a Collective
Energy isn’t limited to inanimate objects or people, places, and things.
Energy can also be felt en masse by current events or happenings- look no further than 9/11 (for those of us that can remember it, can’t believe I have to say that from now until eternity..) or more recently Covid-19.
This was palpable energy, albeit that of the negative variety.
For what it’s worth, energy that overcomes a large swath of the population can also be of the positive variety, as well.
Ask anyone in North Africa in the early 2010’s about the energy of perseverance and overcoming, and they can describe it to you the same way someone who was in Buenos Aires in the winter of ‘22 can speak to you about the energy of unbridled joy.
Unfortunately, early September 2025 gave us the assassination of Charlie Kirk, which we touched on last time we spoke.
While the initial shockwaves of such an occurrence led to feelings of stunned sadness and surprise, the collective energy thereafter was far more powerful and in-depth.
It was yet another cultural bellwether, dripped in the usual division and debate that has become the norm in modern American life.
There were vigils and memorials, and there were vigils interrupted and memorials defaced.
Social media posts in memoriam, and people unfollowing due to those posts, and then social media posts denigrating Kirk, and ensuing unfollows because of that.
It was again the schism we’ve come to know all too well having jet fuel poured onto the fire.
It was an energy creating event, an energy shifting moment.
It’s where we stand now- and people can feel it.
It’s Gotta Go Somewhere
I’ve never been one for rules or citations, but if you’ve been here reading my work long enough, I doubt you care.
The esoteric and the spiritual realm don’t require citations, only human emotion and the ability to feel.
From what I see, at least most of us still have that intact. Our energy-sensing ability hasn’t been totally dulled by modern life.
Ask almost anybody- as apolitical or tuned out as they claim to be- if they feel it, and they’ll most certainly admit that they do.
Such momentous events and the cultural incitement that follows causes a blanketing swath of energy that we are not immune to.
In moments like these, you can’t hide underneath the covers and hope the wave passes over you. It’s too ubiquitous, too unavoidable.
There are doctors more in tune with human spirituality and divine energy side of things that say repressed emotion (aka energy) can lead to cancer and auto-immune disease.
This is easy to dispel for those that love to clutch their textbooks and PubMed articles for “intellectual superiority”, but how many people do you know that rapidly deteriorated after retiring from a fulfilling career, or after the death of a longtime spouse?
It’s as if the energy of love and the purpose of vocation are essential to our physical health.
The ability to purge oneself of negative or chaotic energy and transmute it is an essential life and health skill for anyone living in our changed world.
Latent energy can wreak havoc, can lead you astray.
Your energy is valuable, and it’s your own.
(You can also look up “energy harvesting”, but that’s an entirely different topic for another day- but if you must, have fun with the rabbit hole of roller coasters and amusement parks…did you really think chaining yourself to an 80mph upside down hellride you have no control over was without consequence?)
So, it’s been established that we’ve been saddled with a collective energy of division, unease, and chaos.
We didn’t order it, and that’s fair.
That being said, it’s still our responsibility to handle it.
So what now?
Transmutation 101
While I realize this is veering a bit into the “woo woo” realm, work with me as I wrap this up.
It’ll make sense, I promise…and no, we won’t be drinking grape Kool-Aid at the end of this.
Let’s look at the basic definition of transmutation first.
Pretty cut-and-dried definition for what is definitely an SAT word.
The transmutation of energy has been around for centuries, so please don’t think for a moment here that I’m inventing the wheel here on Substack.
Nikola Tesla was famous for the belief that transmuting his sexual energy was what led him to his monumental success (that’s a really fun rabbit hole, too).
Anyway- we’ve all been given yet another helping of energy in the form of hysteria and chaos, so what do we do?
Channel the shit out of it.
While there is growing nobility in opting-out of the political landscape and news cycle in the USA, events like these and their ensuing energy are inescapable.
You may yearn to theoretically bury your head in the sand, but the people you brush shoulders with in the grocery store and drive in lanes next to on the highway are afflicted with the same energy.
It’s out there, like it or not.
Now more than ever, it’s important we find avenues for our latent energy to expand or be burned off into.
It’s better to be in control of the spending of energy, rather than letting it take hold.
I’ve noticed a tremendous amount of my social circle reconnecting with their Faith (topic for a later date), but this isn’t a “return to Jesus” write-up in any way.
The adoption or re-adoption of Faith is admirable, certainly, but energy transmutation is far from one-size-fits-all.
Getting Your Ducks in a Row
It’s been my experience that energy seems to love alignment.
Alignment is a beautiful thing, it’s essentially the expression of your true self in whatever you feel most “natural” at.
When broken down more simply, how long can you focus on a task you absolutely love?
Whether that’s volunteering at an animal shelter, or cooking, or running.. if it’s constructive and your heart it is in it, the constraints we associate with hard work seem to find their own way out the door.
That’s alignment in its purest form.
There will be continuous debate and fracturing in the coming weeks.
Lots of noise, arguments, social media nonsense, is Jimmy Kimmel on TV tonight or not… what better way to use the chaos of the current year zeitgeist than as fuel for what is in your soul?
Organize or host a dinner for your friends if that’s your thing.
Go surfing all day or boating if you’re one with the water.
Tend to a garden, go to a game, pick up a game, call a friend, whatever it may be.
In times that fill us with emotion and lead us to a higher-charged frequency, who we are at the core tends to shine through brighter than it does at other moments.
As for me?
I like to write.
So that’s what I’ve been doing.

Woo woo, I love. ♾️✨️🌳
Well written and the end sent me down and early Drake rabbit hole of all things
